Slow Sunday 6-miler
I’m starting to build my miles up again. I want to be somewhere in the 30+ miles per week range. I have entered a race on 18 Jun in Fargo, a 10K race. It will be my first time running in a 10K; I hope to finish around the 50 minute mark.

Treadmill Training or whatever works
Today’s workout: Weight training, push-ups, dumbell curls, crunches, lunges and calf raises.
Typical treadmill training: 3 to 5 miles, today only 3. Started run at 6.5M, raised 1/10 of a mpr every quarter mile. Last half mile, raised 1/10 mph every 1/10th of a mile. Always at a slight incline.
This type of training has been very effective for me as I only started running last September, my first 5K run I finished at 29:30. I ran a 5K race last weekend winning my age group (40-49, I’m 41) with a time of 22:33.
Another reason this type of training works for me is my schedule is very tight. I am retired AF, full-time manager and full-time college student.
Next running event will be a 10K in Fargo on 18 Jun 09.

First run after half marathon
Ran the Fargo Marathon on the 9th and took the past week off. It felt good to run this morning as I really needed it. A week of eating anything and everything really jacked my metabolism up; time to get it back.
